SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention Service integrates gateway anti-virus, antispyware
and intrusion to deliver intelligent, real-time network security protection against sophisticated application layer
and content-based attacks through a configurable, high-performance deep packet inspection architecture. As an added
layer of security, SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention Service protects networks
against threats originating from the Internet or between internal network segments. SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus,
Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention Service closes potential backdoors by inspecting over a multitude of e-mail,
Web, file transfer and stream-based protocols as well as instant messaging and peer-to-peer applications. Network
administrators can create global policies between security zones and group attacks by priority, simplifying deployment
and management across a distributed network.
SonicWALL Content Filtering Service (CFS)
SonicWALL Content Filtering Service enhances protection and productivity for businesses and schools by employing an
innovative rating architecture utilizing a dynamic database of URLs, IP addresses and domains to block multiple
categories of objectionable Web content. An easy-to-use management interface provides network administrators with
greater control to transparently enforce acceptable use policies. At the core is a new Web site caching engine that
stores URL ratings locally on the SonicWALL appliance, reducing response time to frequently-visited sites to a fraction
of a second. SonicWALL Content Filtering Service combines appliance-based policy enforcement with comprehensive
content filtering in a cost-effective, manageable solution.
SonicWALL Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware
SonicWALL’s patent-pending Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware provides maximum prevention with virtually
no administrative overhead. Because it’s client-based and maintained on a network wide basis, SonicWALL Enforced
Client Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware protects against threats regardless of where they originate; desktop, remote laptop
via VPN, or server. McAfee-based Anti-virus policy is updated and enforced network wide whenever new threats
appear. Even before .DAT updates are available, SonicWALL Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware’s advanced
heuristics together with SonicWALL Firewall Appliances can block harmful files based on known characteristics,
protecting in hours rather than days. E-mail (SMTP) attachment filtering provides a deeper level of protection.
SonicWALL Client/Server Anti-Virus Suite
SonicWALL Client/Server Anti-Virus Suite is the award-winning McAfee anti-virus protection for Windows based File,
Print and Exchange servers combining advanced virus-scanning technology with unmatched management capabilities.
McAfee NetShield for Windows detects virus-infected files transmitted to and from file and print servers, scanning all
files in real-time. It supports all major file compression formats. McAfee GroupShield for Exchange applies the power of
the award-winning McAfee virus scan engine to Microsoft Exchange. Outbreak Manager is designed to give you proactive virus defense against new virus outbreaks. It is designed to look for suspicious 'outbreak' like e-mail
behavioral patterns and can automatically contain potential outbreaks before they take hold of your network.
SonicWALL Global Security Client
The SonicWALL Global Security Client combines gateway enforcement, central management, configuration flexibility
and software deployment to deliver comprehensive desktop security to mobile workers and corporate networks. Central
policy configuration and distribution at the gateway greatly improves employee productivity and network efficiency while
preventing the use of inappropriate and unproductive applications. The Global Security Client provides administrators
with the ability to configure granular policies by IP address or operating system for added flexibility. An intuitive user
interface embedded within the Client seamlessly integrates multiple applications and presents the administrator with a
status page and optional configuration functionality, offering enhanced ease-of-use.
SonicWALL Global VPN Client
SonicWALL Global VPN Client provides mobile users with secure, easy-to-use access to mission-critical network
resources behind a SonicWALL VPN gateway via broadband, wireless and dial-up connections. Custom-developed by
SonicWALL, the Global VPN Client is specifically engineered to take advantage of the features in SonicWALL’s third and
fourth-generation appliances, adding greater value to SonicWALL’s remote access solutions. Easy to install and
simple to configure, the Global VPN Client uses 3DES or AES encryption to maintain the confidentiality of private data.
Using SonicWALL’s Client Policy Provisioning, the client streamlines VPN deployment and management by
automatically downloading the VPN configuration data from the SonicWALL VPN gateway.
